PS> This will likely take me a few days. Patience please :-)

The Stuff He Says......
So, Nicolas has quite the vocabulary. He frequently cracks me up with the statements he makes. Here are a few that had me in stitches.
When asked to please do something for me, his reply, "Ummmm, negative ghost rider." Whaaa?!?!?
While observing the scenery during a ride to school one morning, "Mom the clouds are amazingly three dimensional. Would you concur?"
I made an age related comment the other day and Nico replied, "Mom you are not old, you are still in your early 30's. I am the one getting old, I am already in my late single digits."
President's Day weekend we went to Ikea. Nicolas wanted to play in their play-land and they were booked solid. They said they could make room for him if he was a special needs child. After discussing this concept for a minute, Nicolas replied, "Well Mom, I am a special needs child. I don't have anybody to play with and my legs hurt." Yes son, those are special needs, but so totally not the same kind.
I love this boy more and more each day. He is a joy.

Firehouse Frenzy
Jessica blessed her babies on February 12, 2012 so we had some out of town visitors for the weekend. Those siblings that were available headed to Firehouse for food and family time. We had quite the crew there and the food did not disappoint.
Missing Tooth Number 3
This was the third tooth Nicolas lost, but the first one on top. He is so excited to lose the other two on top so he can have a "humongous ditch" in his mouth. Really, a ditch?!?!? The things kids think are cool? It shouldn't be long until ditch status is achieved though. The others are super loose and Nicolas has become quite the pro at pulling these suckers. It's a good dang thing because I hate it.

The Big 65!!!
Here she is!! The Birthday Beauty!!!
Blow Grammy Blow!!!!!
The crew feasting.
Double trouble!!!
Vanessa and sweet baby Taya!
Someone's teething?!?!?
The awesome big sister Hanna!
Triple trouble!!!
Proud Papa with Taya girl!
Not sure who invited her?
Crazy cousins!
After dinner dance party! Go Shem!!!
And the dancing continues........
Happy Birthday Mommy!
It is also appropriate to note that Grammy Barbara celebrated her 58th birthday, not her 65th. HA!!! We forgot birthday candles and all I had laying around were a "6" and a "5". So 65 it was!! She was a good sport about it and I made sure to correct all the kiddos when they asked her real age. The evening was a blast and the grand kids danced until dawn, or bedtime!!

Loungin' In The New Warm Up Suit
Nicolas got this super snazzy warm up suit for Christmas from his Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Bob. He loves it and frequently asks if he can wear his "comfy suit."
Thanks guys. It was a hit.
Meet Maya the Mynx
My sweet Nicolas loves animals and babies. If it were up to him, we would have about 25 of each in our home. Unfortunately, we have no babies or animals, but much of our family does. Our Mamas and Auntie just got a new cat. Her name is Maya or Mynx. She is pictured above and absolutely gorgeous. We made the drive over the mountain a few weeks ago to meet Maya. It was love at first sight for Nicolas and Maya. They had such a good time together. They played, lounged and loved on each other all afternoon. Thanks for having us Mamas. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. And Maya, thanks for satisfying Nicolas' love of kitties for a while. I appreciate it :-)

Cooking with Mom
Nicolas and I have prepared quite a few things together in the kitchen. I have never let him use the stove and he was stoked. He did an excellent job and the pancakes tasted fabulous. Looking forward to many more cooking experiments together.

Poem Recitation
Before Nicolas switched schools, he was responsible for reciting a poem every term in front of his entire class. He had to use a prop and act it out. He was graded on his ability to memorize and recite the poem. He performed flawlessly and received a 100% from his teacher. Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures of him during the recitation, but I did get a picture of the prop. The poem and prop are shown below.
Mice
Rose Fyleman
I think mice are rather nice,
Their tails are long,
Their faces small,
They haven't any chins at all.
Their ears are pink,
Their teeth are white,
They run about the house at night.
They nibble things
they shouldn't touch.
And no one seems
to like them much.
But I think mice are nice.
